The Watcher is the cinematic equivalent of going to a moderately-priced restaurant, ordering a decent meal, only to have it just lie there on your plate and stare back at you.

The WatcherYou're not expecting haute cuisine in The Watcher, but you do expect your meal to have some taste. Ever since Silence of the Lambs walked off with Best Picture, Hollywood has been pumping out serial killer thrillers faster than they can come up with scripts.

And it shows. Except for the visual flourishes that seem to shout, "Hey look what I can do," the film is flat and uninteresting.

Thinky's rating: Chicken soup for the untalented scriptwriter's soul.
