What is the Matrix? Well, first of all, it is a movie. In my opinion, it is the greatest movie ever made! The movie's official website is www.whatisthematrix.com.
Reeves plays Thomas A. Anderson, AKA "Neo", a hacker who is determined to find "the answer". His main problem is, he doesn't yet know the question. Fishburne portrays "Morpheus", one of the leaders of the group dedicated to exposing and destroying the Matrix and it's powerful hold on the world and society. He is a brilliant man. Strong, powerful and extremely intelligent. Morpheus believes that Neo is "the one". The one who is destined to destroy the evil Agents, those who have brought the Matrix down upon an unsuspecting earth. He takes Neo to see the Oracle, the wise one who says, "She knows enough." All of the Oracle's predictions for Morpheus and for Trinity come true, and Neo is shocked and dismayed at what she tells him. It confuses and disturbs him, but in the end it is exactly what he needs to hear, and she knows it. So what IS the Matrix? To put it in the words of Morpheus, "No one can tell you what the Matrix is. You have to find out for yourself." How? Go see the movie! |
