Tsai Ming Liang's sequel to What Time Is It There? does not quite reach the beauty of its prequel. In Wayward Cloud, the two protagonists meet again, in Taipei during a drought. Hsiao-kang (Lee Kang Sheng) is a porn star now, and his work occurs in the apartment above Shiang-chyi's home.

Shiang-chyi, in turn, now owns a video store that rents pornographic movies as well. Each hide part of their lives from each other, and the revelation brings about release, literally and metaphorically.
