When I Turned 9

When I turned 9, a gem of a movie from Korea, tells the tale of a small mountain village nine-year-old, Yeo-min, who does various part-time jobs to make one wish come true: buying sunglasses for his mother who has lost an eye while working.

Meanwhile, Yu-rim, Yeo-min's classmate and his one-sided love, is not very friendly with her stepfather despite the love he is giving. Just as Yeo-min and Yu-rim get to understand each other, she leaves for Seoul. And they cry out "Can't 9-year-olds have their own life?" A charming tale...
